Edgemon’s Walk-Off Seals The Deal In SLV Cougars Victory Over Churchill County

A walk-off propelled the Cougars to a decisive, dramatic victory over Churchill County, 7-6. The game was tied at six with the Cougars batting in the bottom of the fifth when an error scored one run for the Cougars.

Both offenses were strong at the plate as SLV collected ten hits and Churchill County six in the high-scoring affair.

In the first inning, SLV got their offense started when Jami Van Eyck doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.

SLV tallied four runs in the third inning. Melia Hall, Katrina Heinemann, Jalie Edgemon, and Zoe Mendez all drove in runs in the frame.

Churchill County scored three runs in the third inning. Churchill County scored its runs on a home run by Lorynn Fagg.

Edgemon was the winning pitcher for SLV. She lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and six runs while striking out two.

Ashley Agaman took the loss for Churchill County. She lasted four innings, allowing ten hits and seven runs while striking out four.

Churchill County socked two home runs on the day. Fagg went for the long ball in the third inning. Shaylee Fagg had a long ball in the fifth inning.

The Cougars tallied ten hits in the game. Edgemon and Van Eyck each had multiple hits for SLV. Van Eyck and Edgemon each collected two hits to lead the Cougars.
