After SLV scored one run in the top of the sixth, Santa Teresa Varsity Saints answered with one of their own. SLV scored when Angie Fulkerson singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. Santa Teresa then answered when Haley Saole singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run.
Santa Teresa pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth, Santa Teresa scored one run on a stolen base, and Martinico doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Evangelina Chavarria earned the victory in the circle for Santa Teresa Varsity Saints. The pitcher allowed five hits and one run over six innings, striking out eight and walking zero.
Alison Reger took the loss for the Cougars. The righty allowed six hits and three runs over three innings.
Kierstin Wick started the game for Santa Teresa. The ace lasted one inning, allowing three hits and three runs while walking zero. Jori Fields-Rapley started the game for SLV. The pitcher lasted one-third of an inning, having to exit when a line drive hit the pitcher.
The Cougars saw the ball well today, racking up eight hits in the game. Fulkerson and Renouf each had multiple hits for SLV. Renouf and Fulkerson each managed two hits to lead SLV Varsity.
Santa Teresa managed ten hits. Martinico, Saole, and Madison Moblad managed multiple hits for Santa Teresa Varsity Saints. Martinico went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Santa Teresa Varsity Saints in hits.
