SLV fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 7-4 loss to Everett Alvarez on Tuesday. The Eagles scored on a single by Selma Leal in the first inning.
SLV lost despite out-hitting Everett Alvarez eight to six.
The Eagles pulled away for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second an error scored one run for Alvarez, an error scored another run for the Eagles and Victoria Castillo homered on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.
Emily Rodgers led things off on the rubber for Everett Alvarez. Rodgers lasted one and one-third innings, allowing six hits and four runs while walking zero.
Amelia Sizemore started the game for SLV. The righthander went six innings, allowing seven runs on six hits and striking out three.
SLV tallied one home run on the day. Bella Reynolds went for the long ball in the first inning.
SLV Varsity had eight hits in the game. Alyssa Struthers and Reynolds all collected multiple hits for the Cougars . Reynolds and Struthers each collected two hits to lead SLV.
