SLV defeated Greenfield High School 17-3 on Saturday thanks to ten runs in the third inning. The big bats were led by Alison Reger, Cheyenne Owen, Gracie Poston, Jersey Collins, Erika Kindred, and Angie Fulkerson, who all drove in runs.
SLV fired up the offense in the first inning, when Reger tripled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.
The Cougars put up ten runs in the third inning. The offensive firepower by SLV was led by Reger, Owen, Poston, Collins, Kindred, and Fulkerson, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Reger led SLV to victory in the pitcher’s circle. The righthander surrendered one run on two hits over three innings, striking out four. Poston threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
L Ornelas was on the rubber for Greenfield High School. The hurler allowed ten hits and 17 runs over four innings, striking out four.
SLV smacked one home run on the day. Reger went yard in the third inning.
SLV totaled ten hits in the game. Reger and Alyssa Struthers each had multiple hits for the Cougars. Struthers and Reger each managed two hits to lead SLV.
Ornelas led Greenfield High School with two hits in three at bats.
