SLV won their league contest against Scotts Valley High School on Tuesday, 6-1.
The Cougars opened up scoring in the second inning. Cheyenne Owen’s sac fly scored Angie Fulkerson run for SLV.
Amelia Sizemore got the win. The Junior pitcher surrendered one run on four hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out two. Jori Fields-Rapley and Alison Reger entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Taylor Wilson took the loss for Scotts Valley. The hurler lasted six and two-thirds innings, allowing ten hits and six runs while striking out two.
SLV socked three home run on the day. Bella Reynolds had a homer in the third, fifth, and seventh innings.
The Valley racked up ten hits. Reynolds, Alyssa Struthers, and Olivia Renouf each had multiple hits for SLV. Reynolds went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Cougars in hits.
Taylor Ezgar led Scotts Valley with three hits in three at bats. Scotts Valley didn’t commit a single error in the field. Kristen Powell had the most chances in the field with nine.
