SLV jumped out to an early lead over the Oak Grove Eagles and took home a 17-2 victory on Saturday. The Cougars scored on a single by Jocelyn Carkner, a stolen base by Olive Colby, and an error in the first inning.
SLV put up six runs in the fourth inning. The Cougars big bats in the inning were led by singles by Angie Fulkerson, Cheyenne Owen, Alison Reger, Fallyn Lachmund, and Abigale Krepelka.
Jori Fields-Rapley took the win for SLV . The pitcher allowed two hits and two runs over five innings, striking out five and walking one.
Cortes took the loss for Oak Grove. The hurler lasted four innings, allowing 15 hits and 17 runs while striking out one.
SLV saw the ball well today, racking up 15 hits in the game. Lachmund, Reger, Carkner, and Colby all managed multiple hits for SLV. Lachmund led SLV with four hits in four at bats.
