Erika Kindred Drives in Four as SLV Varsity Wins Over Santa Cruz High School

Erika Kindred was clutch at the plate with runners on base on Thursday, driving in four on two hits to lead the SLV Cougars past Santa Cruz High School 20-3 on Thursday.  Kindred drove in runs on a home run in the first and a single in the third.

Santa Cruz High School scored three runs in the second inning, but SLV still managed to pull out the victory.  The big inning for Santa Cruz High School came thanks to a single by Sophie Coursey, a groundout by #17, and a fielder’s choice by Maya Hubbs.

In the first inning, the Cougars got their offense started when Olivia Renouf singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.

The Cougars scored ten runs in the third inning.  Angie Fulkerson, Jori Fields-Rapley, Alison Reger, Jersey Collins, Abigale Krepelka, and  Bella Reynolds each had RBIs in the frame.

Reger took the win for SLV. The righthander lasted three innings, allowing three hits and three runs.  Amelia Sizemore threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Hubbs took the loss for Santa Cruz High School. The pitcher surrendered ten runs on four hits over two innings.

SLV socked one home run on the day. Kindred went yard in the first inning.

Kindred went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Valley in hits.
