Four runs batted in from Hailey Lang helped lead the Cougars past Soquel 11-2 on Monday. Lang drove in runs on a single in the first, a triple in the second, and a groundout in the fifth. Lang singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. Zoe Mendez followed with a shot over the left field fence.
SLV tallied four runs in the second inning. Alura Neill, Lang, and Zoe Mendez all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
Madison Reger got the win for SLV. She allowed two hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out three.
A Allaback took the loss for Soquel. She lasted seven innings, allowing 11 hits and 11 runs while striking out two.
The Cougars smacked one home run on the day. Mendez went yard in the first inning.
The Lady Cougars racked up 11 hits in the game. Mendez, Lang, and Neill all managed multiple hits for SLV. Lang and Mendez all had three hits to lead SLV.
