Cougars Victorious Over Soquel in Low-Scoring Affair

Both teams were strong in the pitcher’s circle Tuesday, but the Cougars defeated Soquel 3-1. Madison Reger allowed just three hits to Soquel.

SLV fired up the offense in the first inning, when Reger doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Reger earned the win for SLV allowing three hits and one run over seven innings, striking out seven.

Allaback took the loss for Soquel. She went four innings, allowing three runs on nine hits, striking out one and walking one.

SLV tallied two home runs on the day. Katrina Heinemann had a homer in the fourth inning. Zoe Mendez had a four bagger in the fifth inning.

SLV racked up 11 hits in the game. Heinemann, Mendez, Reger, and Melia Hall each racked up multiple hits for the Cougars. Heinemann led SLV with three hits in four at bats.

Soquel was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Brechlers made the most plays with four.
