Alyssa Struthers went 3-for-3 with two singles and a double in SLV’s 16-2 victory over Westmont on Thursday.
SLV jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after an error scored two runs; Jori Fields-Rapley singled, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs.
SLV added to their early lead in the top of the second inning when Angie Fulkerson grounded out, scoring one run; Olivia Renouf singled, scoring one run; and Alison Reger singled, scoring two runs.
SLV added two runs in the third. Fulkerson singled on the sixth pitch of the at-bat, making the score 11-0.
SLV scored five runs on three hits in the top of the fourth inning; Grace Purtscher drew a walk, scoring one run; Struthers doubled, scoring two runs; Fallyn Lachmund drew a walk, scoring one run; and Fields-Rapley singled, scoring one run.
Abi Krepelka earned the win for SLV. They allowed one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out four and walking one. Reger appeared in relief for SLV.
Fulkerson provided pop in the middle of the lineup and led SLV with four batted runs. The number 3 hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Fields-Rapley collected two hits for the Cougars in four at-bats. Maddy Murphy and Struthers each stole multiple bases for SLV. SLV worked the count all day, accumulating nine walks. SLV ran wild on the base paths, collecting five stolen bases for the game.
