Two SLV Pitchers Team Up In Shutout Victory Against Cupertino

The Cougars defeated Cupertino 11-0 on Saturday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Abi Krepelka induced a groundout from Cupertino to finish off the game.

Angie Fulkerson led SLV to victory by driving in four runs.  Fulkerson went 3-for-4 at the plate.  Fulkerson drove in runs on a single in the first and a triple in the fourth.

In the first inning, SLV started their offense when Fulkerson singled on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs.

The young Cougars put up three runs in the fifth inning scoring on a triple Olivia Renouf.

A single by Martinez in the first inning was a positive for Cupertino.

Amelia Sizemore led things off on the rubber for SLV. The right-hander allowed one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out two and walking zero.

SLV had 11 hits in the game.  Fulkerson, Owens, and Alyssa Struthers managed multiple hits for SLV.  Fulkerson went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Varsity squad in hits.

Martinez led Cupertino with one hit in two at bats.
