Jori Throws Shutout as SLV Defeats Gonzales High School

Jori Fields-Rapley didn’t allow a single run against Gonzales High School, throwing a complete game shutout and leading SLV Varsity to a 15-0 victory on Wednesday.

Angie Fulkerson led SLV to victory by driving in four runs. Fulkerson went 2-for-4 at the plate. Fulkerson drove in runs on a double in the first and a double in the second.

The Cougars got things moving in the first inning. An error scored one run for SLV.

SLV notched seven runs in the third inning. SLV’s batters contributing to the big inning included Alyssa Struthers, Amelia Sizemore, Erika Kindred, Fulkerson, Anaya Sutcliffe, and Olivia Renouf, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

A single by Celeste Camarena in the first inning was a positive for Gonzales High School.

Fields-Rapley toed the rubber for SLV. The righthander allowed five hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out two and walking zero.

Alex Guerrero was in the pitcher’s circle for Gonzales High School. The hurler allowed 14 hits and 15 runs over four innings, striking out five and walking zero.

SLV hit one home run on the day. Fields-Rapley went yard in the second inning.

The Valley collected 14 hits on the day. Fields-Rapley, Bella Reynolds, Sutcliffe, Fulkerson, and Struthers all managed multiple hits for SLV Varsity. Reynolds and Fields-Rapley all had three hits to lead SLV.
