
Cheyenne Owen was clutch at the plate with runners on base on Saturday, driving in six on three hits to lead SLV Varsity past Santa Cruz High School 23-3 on Tuesday. Owen drove in runs on a triple in the first, a triple in the second, and a single in the third.
SLV secured the victory thanks to 13 runs in the second inning. Alison Reger, Bella Reynolds, Olivia Renouf, Owen, Jersey Collins, and Reynolds each had RBIs in the frame.
SLV got things moving in the first inning. Erika Kindred was hit by a pitch, allowing a run to score.
SLV Varsity notched 13 runs in the second inning. The offensive firepower by SLV was led by Reger, Reynolds, Renouf, Owen, Collins, and Reynolds, who each had RBIs in the inning.
Amelia Sizemore was in the circle for the Cougars. The righty surrendered one run on one hit over two innings, striking out three and walking one.
Poppy Coursey started the game for Santa Cruz High School. The pitcher surrendered 21 runs on 13 hits over two innings. Maya Hubbs threw three innings out of the bullpen.
SLV socked one home run on the day. Kindred had a long ball in the second inning.
The Cougars racked up 19 hits on the day. Owen, Renouf, Angie Fulkerson, Collins, Kindred, Anaya Sutcliffe, Sizemore, and Reynolds all had multiple hits for SLV Varsity. Renouf and Owen each collected three hits to lead SLV.
