The Cougars put up four runs in the fifth inning. SLV’s big bats were led by Welch, Lauren Lozier, and Hailey Lang, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Welch surrendered zero runs on four hits over seven innings, striking out ten.
The Cougars tallied ten hits on the day. Jalie Edgemon, Zoe Mendez, and Jillian Francis each had multiple hits for SLV. Francis, Mendez, and Edgemon each collected two hits to lead the Cougars. SLV didn’t commit a single error in the field. Jami Van Eyck (Catcher) had nine chances in the field, the most on the team.
