It’s encouraging to hear from former players and see them express their willingness to give back to the younger players. I’ve heard some really nice things about Samantha and thought she might want to share a little experience with our current team. Here is what she had to say.
I came up here [Sonoma State] expecting a crazy, intense experience, and that’s exactly what I got. After living up here and playing with these girls I have already learned so much about life. The whole experience of college athletics can be very stressful because it is another part of your life that needs a lot of attention and time, but the fact that you are still doing what you love makes up for it. I’m super excited to continue to play ball up here. Coach just told us the other day that many people never get to experience being a college softball player, or college athlete, so enjoy it and give it as much as you can because this is something special. This is such a motivating and inspiring thing for me; to know that all of my past hard work payed off and got me where I wanted to be, and now that I’m here it’s such a special thing. Fortunately, the journey isn’t over. I still have a lot of work to do, and my goals are set even higher this time. College softball is going to be awesome.
